For a semi 22, I have a Marlin 60 and Ruger 10/22. Both are accurate and extremely reliable. I don't have any experience with the other 22s you are asking about except watching a couple of people having problems with their 597s while at the range. Both of my rifles shoot CCI minimags or the bulk boxed Federals.

Whichever rifle you choose, you'll need to try many different brands of ammo to see which one is the most accurate and reliable.

i tryed a ruger once with fed and rem thunder bolts the thunder bolt jamd once in it out of a clip so no miss fires though

That's why you need to try different brands of ammo for the .22. Not all guns will feed all the different shaped bullets available in .22. Find one that feeds reliably and is accurate in your rifle.

The 702 Mossberg is a great little autoloader for a reasonable price. You wouldn't go wrong buying one, IMO. The 10-22 and Rem have proven track records and are now Classics.

Still, I wouldn't feel slighted with a 702 Mossy.

I have 3 10-22's. One I built up with heavy barrel, Fajen stock..trigger stuff etc. One that is the upgrade version with walnut stock and better finish and an old beater that I actually use. I shoot mostly Winchester lead Wildcats in them but have never had a problem with any other shell....well...Stingers had a few fail to fires when they were first out. I have bricks of Rem. and Wildcats so I don't need to look around much for shells right now. I have my Dad's Rem 552 Speedmaster and never had a problem even when burning of 20 something shorts from the tube magazine. I always look at old 10-22's at shops and shows and personally..if I was in the market...I'd grab a used one for 1/2 the price of new. The beater that I have, I paid 50 bucks for..the conversion one was brand new and it was on sale for 110.00 the fancy one I think ..was 150.00. I have had a lot of different 22 auto's but seem to love the Ruger.

10/22s have poor triggers, but I'm not sure if the other ones have any better triggers. At least with the 10/22 the trigger can be improved. For ammo, I like the federal 525 round box.

a savage model 64 is a nice choice. going to get another soon, sold other 6 years ago.

Have a Model 62 Stevens and a Remington 552 Deluxe, both very accurate and shoot well.

I agree with hoghunting, Ruger 10/.22 is the way to go. Its accurate, affordable, and looks nice. Bushnell makes a nice scope for it and there are after market mags for it that will make your 10/.22 a 25/.22 or even 50/.22. Just be careful about the barrel heating up. All I did was add a scope and get a couple 25 round mags and I love it. Dang, I could be a Ruger Sales Rep.
