i just mbought a new h and r heavy barrel ultra varmint .223 and was wondering the rate of twist..can;t find it anywhere

and also i was told to use heavier bullets for less twist and lighter bullets for more twist..is this correct?

it depends on what 223 it is . the ultra fluted is 1-9 (i love mine) and every 223 made in 2006 is a 1-9 .

Good to see ya here Mitchell
The new 1-9 is a good move for NEF/H&R I believe. And considering that there were so many 1-12 barrels already made, they are plentyful, and best of both worlds can be had. But it seems even the 1-9 shoots the light stuff pretty well.

Did you guys see the new calibers H&R is going to offer this year? What do you think about them selling that little rusky round? Think it is worth spending the money on?
