David’s men grumbled. They didn’t want to share the goods they had recovered from the Amalekites with men who hadn’t been a part of David’s rescue party. But David showed the generosity of his divine descendant, Jesus Christ, when he told the men that “all will share alike” (1 Samuel 30:24).
What has God given you so that you can share it with others? Perhaps you have resources that could help your church provide for a ministry need. Or you could give a word of encouragement that would enable a struggling friend to keep going. Perhaps you could share the gift of your time so that your neighbor who cares for an elderly loved one can take a break.
Worship in the form of sharing with others doesn’t have to wait until you can afford it. Paul says of the believers in Macedonia, “In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability” (2 Corinthians 8:2-3).
Who could use your help? Why not contact that person right now and offer to share what you have as an act of worship to God.
