Hi, I use to own the carbine and I can tell you
that this gun is a POS. Cheaply made materials,
LONG feild stripping process involving different
sized hex tools, crappy magazines that don't
work well, and this gun is a JAMOMATIC. This
was by far the worst gun purchase I had ever
made. A revolver would win in a fight against
this gun as the Hi-point would Jam. Bottom
line, DON'T BUY THIS GUN!

I have one...

Mine was $140 at a Sports Show. I've added a red dot sight, sling, stock magazine carrier (Uncle Mikes brand, i think), compensator, scope mounting rings and blocks (from Win model 94), small light...

It won't win any awards for beauty, but I didn't buy it for that...

I have had a Hi-Point carbine for 4 years and it has never jammed ever!!! Not bad for a $150.00 rifle, but did break one firing pin a month ago. A call to customer service and a couple days later fixed it myself at no charge for the part. Excellant warranty(lifetime). The new part was updated from original part so maybe they are aware of the problem and changed the design on the newer models. I would not hesitate to buy another for the money(but will never need to because of lifetime warranty). :D

Cheap and fun, 500-600 rounds and not one Malfunction OTHER than a ProMag problem.
Accurate, and UUUUgggl.. no FUGLY, even funnier lookin' with a 170 $ ATN digital red dot mounted LOL.
But I say for a plinker yote or small game shooter is is a great rifle.
with that said all my other guns are Ruger and Spingfield pistols, Savage 10fp .308, Chinese SKS, and last but not least (in storage) a Civil War Musket.
I probably shoulda bought a 1911 but, what the hell I like my fugly butt gun
:D
