J. Stevens .22

I could use a little help, dating and possibly even getting a ballpark value on an old gun of mine.

It's a J. Stevens .22 rifle.

The barrel says: J. Stevens, A&T Co
Chicopee Falls, Mass USA Pat Apr 17 94
Serial # 68911
Recoil Pad says: Stevens Favorite.

The wood has some scratches on the forearm, and the blueing has a yellowish look. The trigger assembly drops down to expose the breech for loading.

Everything on it works perfectly. But I really don't know much about it. Could somebody help me out?

To accurately date it you'd have to contact the Stevens historian , John Callahan 53 Old Quarry Road , Westfield Mass. 01085

Does this sound right? there are several models of Favorites.

Thank you very much for the information. I knew I could find some help here!

The barrel on mine isn't fully octagonal. It's octagonal above the action, but the barrel itself is just round. It's definitely got the small tapered forearm.

It doesn't really matter, because I don't think I'd ever sell it. It was my Grandfather's gun that my father sold when he was younger, only to buy it back when he stumbled across it years later. So it's probably worth more to me than it could ever be worth to anyone else.

But thanks again for the information! I'll have to get in touch with your expert and send him some photos of it to get his thoughts.
Oh I forgot to tell you he's like $15 or $20 and takes 6 weeks...
