hello, everyone im thinking about getting a marlin 30-30 4 deer hunting this season im hunting in thick trees and brush and i dont know alot about the gun but ive heard good things so just send me a private messege or just write a reply and let me know your opion.
Ah, another Texan, and close too, I'm in north Houston. I don't hunt, but I can say that my Marlin is very accurate and very well made. And since they are side-eject, scopeable. I picked mine up used, but it had not seen much use, and no abuse. I replaced the wooden stock ( found a wrist crack ) with a Ramline synthetic and added about $2 worth of pennies in the buttstock for better balance and recoil absorption. Can't go wrong with a Marlin.
