I just bought a used 336 RC. in .35 rem. and have a few questions. 1. What does the "RC" designate? 2.Does the bolt remove for cleaning? if so, how? 3. This is an older gun with the straight stock and no checkering. Any help would be appreciated 8)
dueeast, Do yourself a favor and get an owners manual...they are free at: To obtain an Owner's Manual Please send your name and address to: Marlin Services P.O. Box 248 North Haven, CT 06473 Be sure to specify the model name and serial number of the specific firearms.
I just mailed for the manual yesterday. I thought if someone knew how to remove the bolt I'd get a jump on cleaning it.. 8)
Remove lever pivot screw, remove lever, pull bolt out the back. Ejector will fall out at this time, note how it goes back in. reverse instructions to assemble.
Th e rc stands for {regular carrbine} and here is a link to help you with the date of it. http://www.savage99.com/marlin336_dates.htm dd444
