Hello. thank you for letting me on this forum. I have just picked up a model 70 cal .270 the serial no. is 819614 I know it is not a pre 64 by way of the barrel contour and it has a push-feed bolt. It has impressive checkering on the stock, a metal plate on the grip cap, a rubber recoil pad , factory iron sights, and it was factory drilled and tapped on the side of the receiver. Can anybody give me any information on this rifle, year of production, barrel twist, good or bad features? Any collector value? Thanks for your time.

Model 70 270 cal

Your gun is a 1965. You can go to www.oldguns.net to check the serial # against their data base for any Winchester.

I don't think your model 70 is worth a bunch. It is, however; a good shooter; which is what you should do with it. The 270 is a great round.
