Nothing new on the horizon yet but am toying with going back to Alaska for moose. Did a combo moose/caribou hunt a couple years ago but the caribou were not co-operative and it took longer than anticipated which gave me only 2 days for moose. I'd like to go back this year but I would likely have to cancel a long standing trip to do so. uglydog

This year I think I'm gonna try to get my @$$ down to Assateague Island to do a little sika deer hunting as well as the normal duck hunting. If you don't know, sika deer were introduced to Assateague Island around the turn of the century by some boy scouts and the are free ranging there and through other parts of the eastern shore of maryland. They are a asian miniature elk species.

If I am lucky,I will get to hunt deer and I bought an elk tag also.I know where there is a couple of black bears but even the hide is so heavy that I didn't get a bear tag.I have to go with other folks that can help and thank God there is a friend and his friends that want to help me into the woods and will drag out a buck for me.I'll most likely hunt with a hand gun.Drop-Shot

8point I've taken several deer with the 260 gr partition gold in 44 mag,but I kind of like the 45 lc also.I bought the buffalo bore 260 gr jsp rated at 1450 fps.I think I will use the 45 lc cause I already know what the 44 mag will do.You can't die anu quicker or be any more dead, but I just want to break the blackhawk in this year.I have several 45's but I'll leave the vaqueros home and take the blackhawk and hope for a shot. What about you.what do you prefere, besides the lone eagle?Drop-Shot
