Although this probably won't affect most of you, it might be interesting to note that most of NY's southern teer counties have a shotgun only restriction for deer. This has been changed now and rifle use has been expanded for a few select counties. S.918 has been passed which allows for rile use for deer & bear affecting the counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chenango, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie and Tioga, and certain rural areas in Broome county east of the Susquehanna River.

I'm glad and surprised for you! I usually don't expect more leniency in gun laws from the Empire state, enjoy! Lots of open farmland down that way, so there are plenty of good rifle opportunities for you folks.
