PENTAX Unveils New Sport Optics for 2005 SHOT SHOW

2005 SHOT SHOW

GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2004--PENTAX Imaging Company will announce a wide range of binocular models and one riflescope during 2005 SHOT SHOW(R) in January.

A leader in delivering durable sport optics to the outdoor industry, PENTAX will unveil three entirely new series of binoculars with either weather resistant or waterproof capability for extra protection in harsh, damp outdoor conditions. The line-up includes JIS Class 4 weather resistant DCF HS roof-prism binoculars in 8x36 and 10x36 sizes. Each of these high-performance binoculars feature fiber-reinforced polycarbonate construction with full rubber armor to protect the optics and inner mechanisms from external shock and to ensure a comfortable hold. In addition, a new PCF WPII porro-prism binocular series offers JIS Class 6 waterproof construction in 8x40, 10x50, 12x50 and 20x60 sizes. These models offer durable aluminum diecast bodies with full rubber armor. The weather resistant DCF MCII roof-prism binoculars include the 8x25 and 10x25. These binoculars combine fully multi-coated optical elements with Bak4-glass roof prisms treated with phase coating and a new super-reflection coating to produce a high-resolution, high-contrast image over the entire image field. Each model features a stylish and functional design, rubber-housed lens barrels, and a unique foldaway construction for greater portability and a hardy JIS Class 4 rating.

PENTAX also will add the 8-16x21 UCF Zoom II to its popular series of porro-prism binoculars.

Another addition to the PENTAX sport optics line-up is a new Lightseeker riflescope. The PENTAX 3x-9x Lightseeker rifle scope was designed with the vast array of short magnum rifles in mind and features PentaBright(TM) technology with precision ground lenses and Super-multi-layer coating on every surface throughout the optical system. The durable one piece, waterproof construction makes this scope ideal for hunters searching for a lightweight rifle scope with superior optical performance. The Lightseeker also offers an extremely long 3.5-5 inch of eye relief.

PENTAX will preview the new Lightseeker rifle scope and the array of binoculars from January 28-31 in Las Vegas at the 2005 SHOT SHOW, the world's premier exposition of firearms, ammunition, archery, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, camping and related products and services.
