Pre-64 winchester feather-weight diamond grade?

    Anyone know if winchester put black diamonds in their rifle stocks or is the one I'm looking at an after market stock or one that someone did themselves?

    I think, but I'm not certain, that the black diamond inlays were only done on shotguns. I'll check some of my references and get back to you.

    How about the rest of the gun?? What model and caliber is it?

    If it was a factory "extra grade", the wood - both stock and forearm - should be superbly figured and finished. There would almost certainly be other non-standard extras, such as a pistol grip stock, engraving or case hardening, set trigger....

    Sorry for omitting the model and caliber its a model 70 in .270.
