    Okay, I'm a new owner of a Winchester 94...
What is the difference between the rebounding hammer and the non-rebounding hammer?
How do I know if I have a rebounding hammer?
What are the pros and cons?

A rebounding hammer with come back to a half cocked position after the firearm is discharged. To fire the weapon again you must work the lever action to cock the hammer back. It is a relatitively new safety idea, that! You cant pull the trigger on a lever action rifle if you dont cock the weapon first...period. There will not be a live round in the chamber again until you cock the weapon, least where I come from each bullet is only good for one shot.
