I wanna buy a Winchester .357 Trails End. I was curious about the saddle ring, though. If I was sneakin through the brush, would it jingle around and give me away? If so, is it removable?

Hi Chuck,I have a marlin 1894 with a saddle ring on it.And it doesn't jingle or make any noise.But if yours did,a drop of super glue would stop it from moveing.

I don't think I'd use super glue. Maybe some RTV / Silicone sealant that you could remove later without damage to the metal finish. Are you sure that it can't be removed?

Guys why do you think the old timers allways put a short piece of leather lace though the ring?[ and it's handy to tie off the lower gut on deer]

Win 94 Saddle Ring

The saddle ring is removable (it twists off) , and you can order a special screw from Winchester to fill the hole.
