Does anyone know what the Savage Model 60 .22 LR retails for at Wal-Mart?

I think you mean the Marlin Model 60. Here it is usually between $90 and $100 I think. I love shooting mine, it is probably the most accurate stock .22 I have ever shot.

Your all lucky buggers to be able to just go into a supermarket and buy guns, when I was a kid you could still get ammo in them but these days only gunshops and a few sports/camping stores can get the licence to sell it, gun's are too hard to get a retail licence for anyone other than dealers .

Yes, that's true, Irish--we tend to think our gun laws are way too restrictive, but they're extremely lenient compared to every other country I know of. If the second amendent to the U.S. Constitution weren't in place, I'm sure we'd have lost our gun rights long ago. That's why we fight so hard not to give up even an inch of ground on the matter.
